Innovation Hub (IH)

Mission statement

The SHCS Innovation Hub aims to contribute to HIV research and create a positive impact on the health and quality of life of people with HIV. The Hub gathers researchers with diverse expertise and scientific backgrounds to promote new multidisciplinary collaborations, and to encourage innovative research by providing a supportive platform for developing, exchanging and working on new HIV research ideas. The SHCS Innovation Hub fosters training and expertise exchanges, particularly for early career researchers. Furthermore, regular scientific exchanges with external experts invited for a talk bring fresh and up-to-date perspectives to the SHCS Innovation Hub.

How to become a member

We are welcoming new members, especially early career researchers involved in the SHCS.  We actively strive for diversity in terms of gender, scientific profile and geographic representation within the Hub. In new members, we are looking for candidates preferentially with a postgraduate degree (MD or PhD), experienced in HIV research, as well as in reviewing proposals/papers/projects, and connected to or involved in an SHCS center.

Potential members should be committed to actively participate in the 5/year SHCS Innovation Hub meetings and interested in collaborating with other members.

Persons interested in joining can reach out to any member of the Hub or contact us using the following email address (note: email address subject to change): young-researchers@shcsmail.ch.

The SHCS Innovation Hub co-chairs will inform the corresponding center head on potential new members, as well as the SHCS president and SB chair(s). Thereafter, the interested person will be invited to present themselves in person during one of our meetings. If the current SHCS Innovation Hub members agree, the new member will be invited to attend the further meetings. Formal approval of the new member takes place during the SHCS full assembly.

How to join a SHCS Innovation Hub meeting as a guest

Anyone interested in joining one of the talks held during the SHCS Innovation Hub meetings, or interested in discussing a specific HIV-related research topic with the Hub can do so by contacting us using the following email address: young-researchers@shcsmail.ch. The topic and speaker of the invited talks are communicated to the SHCS members ahead of time.
