SHCS participating laboratories

The following SHCS participating laboratories determine HIV-1 viral load, measure CD3/CD4/CD8 and prepare samples for the repositorium.

Swiss HIV Cohort Study

The Swiss HIV Cohort Study (SHCS), established in 1988, is a nationwide prospective longitudinal cohort study enrolling persons with HIV in Switzerland. It is a collaboration of all Swiss university hospitals, large cantonal hospitals with affiliated laboratories, and affiliated smaller hospitals and private physicians caring for persons with HIV.

The overarching aim of the SHCS is to improve health of persons living with HIV through clinical, translational and basic science studies, and to strengthen collaborative and transdisciplinary research.

The Swiss Mother and Child HIV Cohort Study (MoCHiV) is integrated into the SHCS. It aims at preventing vertical transmission and enrolls pregnant women with HIV and their children.
